Lyrics
I was on the pagan runOn a superstitious roadLooking for a day to comeTo park my restless soulI was lost and in a messToo proud to beg aboutAnd though I’d never admit itI was scared as hell
She said, “Come along with meI’ll take you homeI’ll make you warm again”Then left me cold, cold
I was on the pagan runAvarice was my roadA pilgrim for holy moneyChasing an empty hole
She said, “Come along with meI’ll take you homeI’ll make you warm again”Then left me cold, cold, ooh (run, running)
I was on the pagan runHiding from the worldFrightened of everyoneScared of what the future may holdScared of what the future may hold
Oh, whoaI took the wrong roadGod showed me where to goI took the wrong roadGod showed me whereI took the wrong roadGod showed me where to goI took the wrong roadGod showed me where
Oh, oh
I turned up everyoneOh, God save meI said let myself go to you, oh
